The new video for InnerCut’s “Find Love feat. Anqui” is an interesting exemplum of issues that, although not ‘new’, have become more and more prevalent in today’s social and political climate. Following the struggle of a black girl attempting to find employment, a transgender woman being refused occupancy when searching for accommodation, and a young Moroccan being spurned by his future in-laws, the video engages us as participants in the struggle for tolerance and acceptance.
However, even while being forced to confront and examine these uncomfortable truths, the inspiring beauty of the track, which is warm and well crafted, gently encourages us to “find love” – a message that we all need to be reminded of these times of social and political upheaval.
Adria Domenech, aka InnerCut, first attracted attention from around the world with a few self-released songs, most notably his track entitled “????” and his single “Anoia”, released via Tasty, and which has racked over 400 thousand streams. Another original, “Next Level”, was co-produced by close friends BCN-LA based production duo BoxinBox & Lionsize, whose remixes of DJ Snake, Twenty One Pilots and others have garnered over one million plays on Soundcloud and received support from Skrillex, Jack Ü and Diplo.
He cites a diverse range of influences, including Shlohmo, Mura Masa, Flume and Point Point – and his repertoire incorporates the styles of electro house, dubstep, hip-hop and chillout.
“Find Love feat. Anqui” came to fruition after Innercut had previously remixed a track for Anqui. Adria felt compelled to produce original content with her and they collaborated via the internet. The result is, in the words of Wonderland Magazine, “An electrifyingly beautiful song, with an irresistible hook which will instantly make you want to dance.”
