DrewsThatDude releases ‘Greed’ today, on September 18. The Brooklyn-based producer and artist, a Berklee graduate and two-time Grammy nominee, has built a catalogue that extends across multi-platinum records. His credits include additional production on Lil Wayne’s ‘How to Hate’ from the 5× Platinum Tha Carter IV and background vocals on Mac Miller’s ‘So It Goes’ from the 2× Platinum Swimming. He has also contributed to sessions with EARTHGANG, Jeezy, and T-Pain. As a solo artist, his work has surpassed 20 million streams and received FM radio support in over eight countries.
‘Greed’ pulses with R&B, disco-funk, and electronic club energy, built on an irresistible groove and rich texture. The track kicks off with shimmering chords and a relentless disco beat, gradually layering in lush strings and synths that soar in the intro and return for a cinematic outro. Wah-wah guitars and a bold lead synth melody channel the spirit of late-1970s and early-1980s disco-funk, while crisp programming anchors the track firmly on the dancefloor. The groove grabs you instantly, and each added element gives the song a sense of scale and momentum. While fans of FKJ’s polish and Daft Punk’s electronic precision will find familiar touchstones, the sound is unmistakably DrewsThatDude’s own. Crafted in his studio, We Had Our Time, ‘Greed’ also serves as the sonic backbone for his original graphic novel Relapse, weaving the single into a larger visual and narrative driven universe.
