Digital Moss is an artist who ponders every detail of his musical projects, working in stripped-back tones and extracting the most out of minimal sounds. Evgenii embarked on his Digital Moss persona after being a part of one of the genre-bending post-rock trio. I Am Waiting for You Last Summer has been producing music and touring for over a decade.
In that time, Digital Moss has honed his sound, which he now brings to the fore through his alias that has its own universe created through sound, story and visual language on his website. He has been releasing his music since 2018, with his new single, Nohe, set to be the latest chapter in what has been a meandering soundscape with sentimental, enthralling and thrilling sounds.
Nohe is another step into the dystopian realm that Digitial Moss has created through his unique take on electronic music. The mastery of his modular synth allows him to create scenic backdrops for the mind to explore his stilted future. The sound electroplates an uncertain cyberpunk dystopia but will enable it to shimmer with glistening aurora borealis that cut through the sense of complete tyranny.
The pads start solemn as he arpeggiates notes to layer a sense of clairvoyant guidance. It is starkly stricken with impending doom before regaining a sense of buoyant resonance transcends the track and continues it to rise. Digital Moss often creates these paradoxical soundscapes equally balanced in hope and despair.
