In conversation with electronic music producer Lamliki

Lamliki is a unique music producer from Morrocco. His recent releases include the songs ‘Feeling Blue’ and ‘Isolation’. The music producer was influenced by soul, RnB and Jazz music from a young age. In his late adolescence, he would discover a passion for electronic music and would pursue a professional musical career. Lamliki enjoys breaking techno music labels.

Describe your sound for us. What do you want people to feel when they hear your music?

My music is a mixture of atmospheric and enveloping sounds, music to touch the soul and transmit deep feelings.

Which 3 artists have influenced you the most growing up?

Bonobo, Daft Punk, Eminem

How did you discover your particular sound?

I discovered my particular sound as I was composing many songs, until I found the sound that represented me the most.

What are the most important pieces of equipment to you?

My laptop along with my akai apc40, my mpd32 and Maschine.

What outside of music inspires you to create?

I am inspired by landscapes, people, melancholy, and heartbreak.

Do you have a favourite memory of your career so far that you will take with you forever?

I have many moments … one of them very special was a set I made at Cafe del Mar in Barcelona

If you could work with, or perform alongside any artist living or passed, who would it be?

Bonobo, Daft Punk, Burial, Chris Brown

Most artists say that if they weren’t artists they would be mailmen/women… what would you be?

the truth is, that more than ten years ago I combined my passion for music with my work in the hostelry.

What can we expect from you in the near future? Any upcoming projects or gigs in the pipeline that you would like to tell us about?

I am working on my second album called Heart Over Head and I hope it will be out soon.
