Following on from her recently released single, Matilde Davoli has unveiled the video for ‘Il Coraggio di Provare’ and the result is a moving composition centred around bittersweet nostalgia.
Set against the epic soundscape of the track itself, the video delivers a gut-punch as the lead character, an elderly woman, reminisces the dreamy images and the simmering passions of her youth. It is a beautifully rendered story, which through atmosphere, editing, and texture effectively conveys what the character is feeling.
“The video for my latest single features Caterina, an elderly woman, who finds a special dress from when she was young, made from a parachute.” Davoli explains. “This memory will transport her far from the picnic she’s having with her grandchildren, and to a post-war summer in the company of military deserters. We wanted the video to be an immersive sound journey of extraordinary evocative power, where the intimate and suspended music marries with Caterina’s emotions, while she digs distant memories that require a little courage to be lived again.”
‘Il Coraggio di Provare’ is from Matilde Davoli’s upcoming album Home, which is set for release on November 5th via Loyal To Your Dreams.
