Suffer The Children are a left-field electronica / r&b act, divided between London and Vancouver. They have just released their debut EP North Wind, which follows a triology of successful singles ‘Killing Hands’, ‘Someone To Lose’ and ‘Doesn’t Mean We’re Free.’
The band is made up of award-winning producer Chin Injeti, performing artist Rian Peters, and vocalist and visul artist Shallom Johnson. Between them, the trio have an impressive list of credentials, including work with Drake, Eminem, Kanye West, Dr. Dre, Jay-Z and Lauryn Hill.
Suffer The Children bring together the talents of three highly skilled individuals, and North Wind is the fruit of their labour. “This is for us, and for no-one else. It’s about our greatest downfalls, about the tragic experience of being human. At the same time, it’s about those fleeting moments of triumph, the ones that capture each of our stars at their brightest – far and few between as those may be. This is us. Take what you will from it.”
North Wind is a sincere, soulful project, brimming with humble perseverance. The honesty bursting out between the soul-infused grooves is almost audible, not just in the moody, emotive soundscape, but in the space the band create for each other to shine. On North Wind, Suffer The Children have created something so raw, so honest, so palpable, that it would be impossible for music lovers to ignore this release.
