Davis Galvin Pushes Ambient Boundaries with Prism

Davis Galvin’s latest release, Prism, takes a bold step into the intersection of ambient, new age, and dub, offering listeners an unpredictable yet immersive sonic experience. Released under the experimental cassette label Music to Watch Seeds Grow By, the album thrives on its ability to shift between meditative calm and moments of uncanny dissonance. Tracks like ‘Sipes’ Vista’ feature deep oscillating synths that expand and contract like breathing, while ‘Humidity 14’ crackles with static-laden textures that feel simultaneously warm and alien.

Rather than settling into traditional ambient tropes, Galvin infuses each piece with an undercurrent of movement and experimentation, making Prism equally suited for deep headphone listening or as an atmospheric after-hours soundtrack. It’s a project that refuses to sit still, demanding engagement while offering a uniquely transportive experience
