munro pushes creative limits in ‘Butterflies / Pineal’

Having previously released an AI-generated music video for his single ‘About You’, a technologically-advanced nod to the impressionist painters of old, Quality Goods Records producer munro isn’t afraid of putting it on the line, of pushing his creative limits, of breaking expectations, likely his own and those of others in the process. He seems like an artist who likes to tinker with different things, exploring sound design techniques, programming interesting drum patterns and so forth.

His new track ‘Butterflies / Pineal’ exhibits this trait, this impulse, so to speak. The single consists of two parts, each with its own unique flavour and spice and everything nice. Although their drops are, at first listen, incompatible, the introduction of ‘Pineal’ transitions nicely from ‘Butterflies’: The change isn’t harsh over overly abrupt. Even though both records are asymmetrical in their tonality, munro’s ‘sound’ blends them, uniting the two otherwise separable tracks with a sort-of gestalt quality.
