Swiss artist and producer Audio Dope released his new single ‘Round & Round’ on 13th January.
The new single features New Zealand singer Noah Slee, who is based in Berlin. With tinges of jazz and funk, Rhodes-Esque keyboards and light drum work, this track’s breathy vocals are both catchy and groovy. File next to anything from N.E.R.D. all the way through to Kelis.
The track is part of Audio Dope’s upcoming album ‘Gone’ which is scheduled for release on Radicalis Music in March 2023.
Audio Dope said: “It’s a dream come true to release a track with Noah Slee. He is an amazing artist. I’m very proud of the result – “Round & Round” is the kind of song that will heat up any room.”
The Basel-based producer Audio Dope started his musical journey by making old-fashioned beats inspired by late 90’s US hip-hop until he fell in love with the instrumental music scene and quickly established his own recipe combining organic samples and vocal fragments with crispy synths and tight drums.
His creations merge hip-hop, downtempo and trip-hop in a similar style to artists including Kaytranada, Maribou State, James Blake and Odesza and he has played to supportive crowds at festivals including Montreux Jazz, Zürich Openair and Openair Frauenfeld.
His eponymous debut album ‘Audio Dope’ was released in February 2018 on Majestic Casual and Radicalis Music, followed in December 2018 by his EP ‘Preserved’. In April 2020 the second album ‘Superlunary’ was released.
Audio Dope has released eleven works to date, winning ‘Best Electronic Demo’ at 2016’s M4Music as well as the Basler Poppreis in 2018, and has gained more than 50 million streams on his songs so far – Soundcloud (1.5 million), Youtube (2.4 million), Apple Music (17.6 million) and Spotify (29.8 million). In 2019 Audio Dope & Matthias Gusset launched their new project Kappa Mountain. They released two EPs (‘Echo Pool I’ and ‘Echo Pool II’) so far.
