Old Fashioned Lover Boy’s ‘Goodbye’ has just hit the airwaves, following his two previous releases ‘I Pray’ and ‘Modern Life.’ The singer/songwriter’s 2016 debut album Our Life Will Be Made Up Of Simple Things put him on the map, with his hit single ‘Oh My Love’ garnering attention from publications such as Clash Mag, Ones to Watch and Spill Magazine.
Born Alessandro Panzeri, Old Fashioned Lover Boy has drawn influence from a wide array of soul and folk influences like Blood Orange, Frank Ocean, Daniel Caesar, and Local Natives.
With a background in indie-rock, OFLB turned his attention to a more relaxed sound when he moved to Milan. ‘Goodbye’ is an ode to his hometown Naples, and is perhaps symbolic of him shedding his indie roots. The track features his characteristic laid-back beat, piano chords and intricate but understated guitar picking. “It’s a song about Naples; the city where I was born and raised and left as an adult. It tells of when I come back to visit it and I feel as if nothing changes even if time passes. It is a melancholy song that speaks of leaving the past behind and living the present.” he says.
