Emma Miller’s debut single “Burning Out” has garnered attention in all the right places. The impressive track has been aptly described by the 405 as “The sort of song that commands attention by gently drawing you in. Simple it may be but making simplicity sound this rich is a very skilled thing.”
“Burning Out” was released on May 19th, and talks of the self doubt we face when we
choose to pursue the road less travelled, and the sense of consolidation we can find from the support of others, although, ultimately we must rely on ourselves.
Miller collaborated with a host of artists to bring this track into fruition; India Bourne (Ben Howard band) for some of the arrangement of the track, Tim Elsenburg (Sweet Billy Pilgrim) recording the vocals, to finally working with two young London based producers, Sam Welch and Solomon Oak.
The result is a unique blend of sophisticated songwriting and contemporary, experimental sounds that represent the first steps of an artist realizing her sonic and artistic persona.
