We had a listen to find out, and it’s clear why VICE sang French producer Uppermost’s praises. His sound feels like the lovechild of artists such as Lemaitre, Petit Biscuit and Madeon. He dropped ‘Inner Peace’ on 20 September via his own label Uppwind Records. The 30-year-old’s eternal optimism is sensed through his music by truly resonating with fans.
Uppermost revealed that his sonic influences centre around artists such as Bon Iver, Floating Points, Tycho, Lane 8, and Crazy P, but claims to be strongly influenced by film and visual and street art. Uppermost, real name Behdad Nejatbakhshe is a self-taught DJ and producer based in Bordeaux, France.
As an artist and producer, Uppermost’s ‘Inner Peace’ is another invitation encouraging his listeners to grow. With its unique and beautifully crafted arrangement, the track draws emphasis to the integrity and passion of Uppermost’s trademark sound.
