Non-conforming electronica act Calcou, has shared his EP Places today. It is everything we hoped it would sound like and more. Ethereal tones are paired together with more daring beats and the results are delightful experimental and light on the mind. Released via MfDR+C, the EP is comprised of seven delicately lo-fi infused electronic tracks. Gentle vocal echo and reverb also add an extra flair to this richly textured body of work that feels like it wants to take the imagination to peaceful vacation destinations.

Previously featured on Reverbs with EP track ‘Below’, we commented: “ This delightfully production-focused track sees Calcou explore the ever-evolving genre vine of electronica, and he does so with grace and effortless charm.”

EP song ‘Far’ features on LO-FI_GROUND.fm

Calcou’s music is definitely a refreshing listen after an erratic week. Despite the overall EP being highly experimental, the listener can still consume it when they want to just put their feet up and enjoy its tranquil mood, especially with the piano-infused track ‘Far’.
