After just a year on the scene, Nico Cartosio has already made such an impact with his incredible music videos. Rich with emotional storytelling and the highest quality cinematography. With Cartosio, it’s clear he has a passion for giving listeners the full package. An eye for film and classical composure all rolled into one artist.
Only 11 months ago, Cartosio released his very first music video for single entitled ‘Snow Above the Earth’ (Requim for the Tunes Unplayed). It is a sombre tale of children who died before having a chance to make their own music. It’s haunting and emotional as these ghostlike figures of young people tread through frozen lands and over water to the afterlife where their music can finally be heard.

Taking on a completely different idea, Cartosio released ‘Cocaine March’ in November 2018, portraying addiction as physical beings, infecting people with the the darkness that is human weakness for self-abuse. These demonic beings perform incising dances around their victims till physical contact is made and well… I think we know what happens then.

Just in time for Christmas 2018, Cartosio caused some upset with his festive offering of ‘Christmas on the Moon’. I’m actually just going to let Nico Cartosio explain this one himself. “Christmas is such a joyous time. But haven’t you ever happened to feel unbearably sad on this night? I believe those who are alone this Christmas would understand me”. On the violent and action packed music video, Cartosio explains, “The story of ‘Christmas On The Moon’’s music video takes place on the streets of my favourite city, where occasional shootings happened when I was in my teens. The plot is based on a real story from my childhood, some fiction, and on some magic as well – it’s impossible to separate these things on a Christmas night. Sometimes your only protector from a bullet is a teddy bear…”

And now focusing on another aspect of life and emotion, Cartosio tells the personal story of when he met a woman by chance on the city of Rome. The brand new music video for his single ‘Melting’ was released on 20 March and is just such a gorgeous depiction of intimacy and memory. Everyone wants someone to write a song for them. But what if a brief encounter was so striking that it inspired something so rich and beautiful as a Nico Cartosio release?
