Voice Actor and Squu Craft a Dreamlike Soundscape on Lust (1)

In their collaborative album Lust (1), Noa Kurzweil of Voice Actor and Welsh producer Squu create an ambient atmosphere that feels both intimate and distant, inviting listeners into a world of hazy textures and fluid sonic movement. Kurzweil’s vocals, floating just above a whisper, blend seamlessly into Squu’s shimmering pads and fractured beats, crafting an atmosphere that is weightless yet deeply emotive.

The album moves between delicate ambient sketches and restrained rhythmic pulses, never settling into one form for too long but always maintaining an underlying sense of cohesion. There’s an almost trance-like quality to the project, as if it exists in the space between wakefulness and sleep, where sound becomes more of an emotional impression than a structured composition. Lust (1) is less about melody and more about mood, making it an album best experienced in full, allowing its hypnotic flow to take over.
