Vincenzo Ramaglia has shared a new single under PEM Records. Trio Son Lux created a remix of Vincenzo Ramaglia’s ‘La parole 7’, which was shared on the 4th of November. The New York, USA-based group is comprised of Ian Chang, Ryan Lott and  Rafiq Bhatia who all shared a common interest rooted in questions surrounding the molecular constituents of music as well as the delicate act of assembling and dispersing the constituents of these molecules.

Stream / Download: ‘La parole 7 (Son Lux Remix)’

The minuscule molecular constituents of this remix drip into every opening of the eardrums and the heart, and the listener is lost for words because the arrangement of every echoing note in the song speaks directly to him or her and also to other people simultaneously. This minuscule constituent takes the form of, for example, a pitch leap, shattering hi-hats or electronic splatters. The result is that listeners are convinced, every time they listen to the song, that what they hear is different to what another person hears.

Son Lux tell us about the creative process: “starting at the end of the original and ending at its beginning, our remix of Vincenzo Ramaglia and Laure Le Prunenec’s ‘La parole 7’ functions as both a continuation and a left turn. We selectively followed sonic elements and motifs on a hallucinatory journey towards annihilation and rebirth”.
