Inspired by Russia’s political unrest, the OPIUM EP reflects the feeling of many everyday folk concerned with the current political climate. Aminov explains: “This release was written under the influence of a difficult situation in Russia. We live in a very aggressive political mood and this mainly concerns ordinary people in our country.”
OPIUM EP is a stunning release in it’s own right, and sees Aminov exploring his signature minimalistic yet deeply intricate soundscapes. The instrumental and compositional mastery on show is extremely satisfying, and sure to make a dent on the consciousness of those who spend their time watching at the edges of the electronic music firmament.
