Nikita Bassi has released the video her new single ‘Oh Lover’, taken from her debut EP Satin out now. ‘Oh Lover’ premiered with The Independent, who featured Nikita Bassi as their Spotlight Artist.
‘Oh Lover’ addresses the fear and anticipation that comes with blossoming love. The song is a beautiful R&B ballad and features delicate orchestration along with tabla percussion, which nods to her Punjabi-Indian roots.
The new single is taken from Nikita’s acclaimed debut EP Satin, and follows the release of ‘Rescue’ and the debut single and title track. The songs have received great support from Radio 1, with Huw Stephens a big fan of Nikita at the station. BBC Introducing have been strong backers of Nikita Bassi across Radio 1 and the BBC Asian Network.
Nikita has also received high profile critical acclaim from the likes of Rolling Stone and Harper’s Bazaar in India as well as Clash, Flaunt Magazine, In Stereo Magazine and many more.
Nikita has worked with producer Cores (Solange, The Streets, Gorgon City) who built on her bedroom-produced tracks, to create the uniquely crafted Satin EP.
The Satin EP finds R&B, pop and world music colliding in mesmeric fashion and its release has seen Nikita Bassi prove herself to be an important new name in both the UK and India.
