Passionately dark electronic music explorer sweeep is a multi-faceted music producer that is bound to go places with an undeniably diverse soundwave pattern. Her upcoming album release in partnership with electronic producer WTCHCRFT titled  ‘burning the most beautiful thing i’ve got’ is set for release on the 8th of September via Worms and Elektronmusikstudion. The Stockholm born producer recently shared the climactic song ‘overlooked’ via the blog 8oh8.  This track shines with its refreshingly spiky electronic textures which will feature on the forthcoming album.

Until then, we had a chat with the innovative producer sweeep and discovered she is just as quirky as her sound.

Sum up your year so far in two words.

Vacuum, bizarre.

Tell us more about how your latest/upcoming release was conceptualised?

It was never conceptualised, to be honest.

Describe a typical day in your studio space.

I open up some old project files, get sidetracked and end up with a new song.

What are the most important pieces of equipment for you?

An egg slicer, if you open it you can use it as a harp.

Describe what an ideal day would be for you?

Just spending the day in a neon light city with someone I love, making music, eating delicious food, dance, climb a rooftop and do something unexpected.

Do you have a favourite memory of your career so far that you will take with you forever?

I played my first show in NYC back in 2018, and the day after I went alone to another show to see someone I knew from Soundcloud. After the show, we sat in a car with a bunch of other producers and played unreleased tracks for each other.

Who is your musical guilty pleasure?

I don’t see anything as a guilty pleasure. If I enjoy it, it’s dope. No matter the genre.

What can we expect from you in the near future?

Me and the lo-fi hip-hop producer Eevee just located to Berlin to collaborate on some music together, so get ready for that release! I’m also working on solo music as well.
