mïus has taken a new approach to Electronica and released the result, his new single titled ‘Slow Burn’. He has shared the song ahead of his upcoming LP, Abstrakt, which will be available on the 2nd of June via Théque Records.

Sure, the track contains the markings of the genre: off-kilter drums, interesting precision sound choices, and so forth, but he has added something new. With what did he spike the mix, though? Well, listening to the record, one will hear the presence of a rich and lilting voice, characteristic of the more commercial side of music, not pop exactly. Maybe even soul? It’s hard to pin down, but I think that was the intention here.

I think mïus wanted to blur boundaries, choosing to innovate (as a true creative should) instead of relying on formulas to guarantee the piece ‘works’. And even though the song doesn’t fit neatly into any box, it stands out as its own thing.
