Producers Frythm and Lake Hills have finally launched their EP, Across The Room, released on February 2, 2024, via Alpha Pup Records. Acting as a precursor to this eagerly-anticipated project, the duo unveiled their first two singles ‘Safer With You’ and ‘Over You’. The EP was mastered by Daddy Kev, a Grammy Award-winning engineer known for his work with artists like Ross From Friends, Flying Lotus, and Shigeto. Frythm x Lake Hills took charge of the production and mixing of the EP. Frythm’s music has garnered support from esteemed platforms such as BBC Radio 6‘s Tom Ravenscroft, Complex UK, KEXP, and others. Both artists have independently made significant marks across the United States, with Lake Hills recently gracing the stage at iii Points Miami and collaborating with Ivy Lab on the IFG Tour.

Across The Room is a testament to the power of this collaboration, offering six tracks that traverse a diverse range of genres and evoke a multitude of moods. From the high-BPM, atmospheric euphoria of ‘Safer With You’ to the introspective glitchiness of ‘Over You’ and the 90s Eurodance club-ready vibes of ‘Diamonds’, the EP caters to an array of fans of unconventional beats. The titular focus track takes listeners on a dark, ambient journey through multiple genres, featuring delicate and sultry vocals from Chinese-American singer-songwriter, producer, DJ, and musician Seyaa.

Frythm revealed: “The process of writing this EP with Jake [Lake Hills]  felt very organic. We’ve been in each other’s creative spheres for quite some time now. We’ve always talked about creating music together, and after a few years a project finally came to fruition. The project seems to have come at a synchronistic time for both of us. Over the last few years, we’ve individually been building our sonic and visual palettes. The record is a true culmination of both our sounds. Jake, coming from a techno and house background, really helped elevate the arrangement of these compositions. It’s a well rounded piece and gives room for play, contemplation, and high energy moments. I learned a lot from him throughout the process and am grateful for the music we created. There were a lot of laughs, fun, and experimentation in making this record together and I think this EP reflects all of those emotions.”
