Jim Rider released his Two More Days EP on April 21st via All Day I Dream. This EP showcases Jim’s expertise in crafting uplifting melodies across the four original tracks.

Inspired by a two day long train journey across the United States, the EP’s title track is a lengthy journey through multiple soundscapes. The track features dreamy synth notes, arps, and a wide variety of percussive elements- sounds which were staples of Jim’s DJ sets this past year.  There’s no dull moment in the eight minute track, as Jim’s ability to manipulate synths while simultaneously keeping true to his organic roots with a percussive bed of cowbells, congas, and tambourines inject excitement throughout. The mystical and soothing feel of the synths and ambient vocals throughout ‘Two More Days’ is perfectly contrasted with the final phrase, which is bouncier, more aggressive, and carried by an unfiltered bass lead. It’s no surprise that ‘Two More Days’ is by far Jim’s most requested ID to date.

Another standout from the EP is ‘Hairy Mary’s Apothecary’, which tells the tale of a young girl who is completely covered head to toe in hair until a magical fairy saves the day. Jim Rider demonstrates his incredible talent, blending spacey synths with organic and ethnic soundscapes. This creative, joyous, melodic gem completes a triumphant return to the label.

Throughout the EP, Jim’s smooth synths and mystical arps are so potent and memorable that they paradoxically cause you to feel lost in time- a truly remarkable sensation.
