Janus Rasmussen releases track ‘Lilla’ via Christian Löffler’s Ki Records

Janus Rasmussen’s much anticipated single ‘Lilla’ has been released, leading up to the drop of his upcoming album Vin. Slated for release on Christian Löffler’s Ki Records, Vin will be available on March 29th.

Well known as “the other half” of duo Kiasmos, Rasmussen currently finds himself in Reykjavík, Iceland, where he has been hard at work on his new offering. “I often work really quickly and I tend to be drawn to really strange ideas. I have this kind of obsession with finding something that really should not work and make it work. It’s very satisfying.”

And thus, ‘Lilla’ has come to be. Brimming with juxtaposition, the track is both calming and inspiring, with jubilant melodies and soothing synths. What starts out as an uncomplicated structure, is soon layered with texture and becomes a finely tuned masterclass of production.

“Lilla means purple in Faroese and it also happens to be my favourite colour. I thought the song sounded very “lilla” and the name just kind of stuck to it. It’s such a lighthearted song and that connection simply felt natural.” he says.
