Brooklyn indie four-piece Grizzly Bear have subtly announced the upcoming release of their fifth studio album with a strange new 30-second video featuring nothing but ambient sounds and high-contrast colour visuals.
Fans have been awaiting the news of the band’s forthcoming album since October 2017, when an update was poseted by the band announcing their album as “90% done”. The previous album, Shields, was released in 2012.
“We’re feeling more adventurous with the sonic directions, changing it up a little bit – not like, a techno dance album… it’s in the beginning stages,” said frontman Ed Droste in a 2015 interview with Rolling Stone. “Only a couple songs have started to take shape and it’s gotta be like, a good dozen or so before we get the picture.”
Oh, and they’ve also got a new Instagram page. Check out the ambient video below.
