On February 1st, Finnish artist EMMI IIDA revealed her latest single, ‘Higher Self,’ released via her own label EFG Records Oy. The song showcases a velvety vocal contribution from Peachkit, a singer-songwriter and producer based in the United States. EMMI IIDA, not only a musician but also a multi-modal visual artist and holistic interior architect, established her own company (EFG Productions Oy) and record label. Her musical endeavors have garnered support from reputable publications and stations like NOTION, METAL Magazine, CLASH Magazine, Wonderland Magazine, NOCTIS Mag, Earmilk, BBC 6’s Craig Charles, RTÉ 2FM, and even led to an interview with MTV Finland.

Embarking on a contemplative odyssey, ‘Higher Self’ leads the listener through a meditative exploration. EMMI IIDA’s smokey yet tranquil vocals guide the song, delving into themes of self-actualization and elevating oneself to a superior state. Peachkit offers a smooth and ethereal rap verse, seamlessly fusing the calming essence of meditation with the rhythmic cadence of rap music, all the while motivating the listener to aspire to their utmost potential. The music video, filmed in the mysterious desert-scapes of Joshua Tree, California, beautifully complements the magical feeling of the song.

EMMI IIDA shared: “What if you keep worrying for your past, living in the past, wondering if there’s no point in life, only failure? What if nothing seems to make sense, just mistakes after mistakes? Your inner self, your higher self, comes to remind you that those experiences and so called failures are all moulding you, preparing you to be ready for the future you who you will become when you continue listening to your gut feelings, things that excite you, following in the path of your dreams. ‘Higher Self’ is about the connection with the divine, balancing the frequencies of our crown chakra, finding that oneness within.”
