Breaking forth of his self-imposed monotony of the pop world, Jacob Olofsson has launched his neo-classical project, under the name Olovson. His debut single under this alias, ‘Books Are Flying’ is slated for release next week Friday, on the 25th of June via his own imprint 1136 Diamond. However, you can catch the recently premiered classical single below. The project is designed to entwine emotion with the true fundamentals of music and finds itself a far cry from the work he previously devoted himself to, the world of pop music.

Pre-save ‘Books Are Flying’

Olovson tells us what this new adventure means to him: “This music is the most transparent body of work I’ve created. It is very liberating to be able to elaborate with tempo, harmony and even dissonance. Everything becomes very fluent when it’s just me and the piano. Somewhere between imagination and reality resides this place where anything can happen. ‘Books Are Flying’ represents the beginning of a new path I am yet to discover.”

‘Books Are Flying’ was premiered via Rolling Stone India as well as with the BBC Radio 6, with Nemone sitting in for Shaun Keaveny,  but the producer has received a wide range of significant support with his previous project, including the likes of Billboard, Complex, Highsnobiety, The Fader to name a few. We’re considering this step into a new genre a form of great courage, as Olovson ventures away from the pressures of pop music and into the fantastical realm of neo-classical. The resulting single shines with freedom of expression as the solo classical elements (both composed and performed by the producer) bring glimmers of hope to the ears they touch.
