Electronic producer Gidon Schocken explores behavioural loops in latest music video

Israeli musician Gidon Schocken has released his track ‘Sunn ft. Afik Doari’ alongside its idiosyncratic music video. The electronic producer cites diverse influences, including Massive Attack, The Chemical Brothers and DJ Shadow, resulting in a sound that is comparable to Portishead while Afik Doari brings in elements of Lana Del Rey.

‘The video, directed by Stephan Stelman, centres around a girl sitting at a dining table with her parents. She loses herself for a few moments and is soon stuck in an ever-changing loop. Throughout this, she’s seen going into her own little world, where she begins to learn, discover and try to free herself.’

All of this comes together to create a beguilingly beautiful track, with dusty beats and pointed electronic embellishments which explore the essence of young adult hood along with behavioural loops. The lighting, makeup and wardrobe come together to accentuate and enhance the dynamic dancing of Keshet Wachtel.

The producer will also be holding an event at Lillienblum 22, Israel where he will be showcasing all new material from upcoming album. He tells us to expect, ‘several different musical genres with live beats an electric guitar and visuals’. Considering the impressive visuals that are presented with the music video, we can’t wait to see what he’ll present. You can read more about the event here.
